Overview

The Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Coordinator Confidential for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). IP&O employs a workforce of approximately 2,500 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety, and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • This position will assist the Asst. Director in the resolution of employee issues, progressive discipline, and labor management for all of IP&O.
  • The position will handle confidential information including labor negotiations documents.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Requires excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to deal with a diverse staff and a wide variety of situations with discretion and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kronos Timekeeping system, RIAS/HCM and ROCS highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to employment preferred as well as familiarity with union agreements.
