Patient Services Representative

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) works with and reports directly to the Front Office Supervisor and Director of RCM and Compliance. The PSR will be responsible for the delivery and management of the daily front desk activities at the David C Wynecoop Memorial Health Center, while maintaining a professional work environment.

Major Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Shall be responsible for ensuring accurate and complete patient registration paperwork and documents
  • Shall schedule, cancel, reschedule, and otherwise manage patient appointments in the Electronic Medical Record System.
  • Shall respond to patient complaints, concerns, and inquiries in an empathetic and understanding manner
  • Shall always uphold patient confidentiality, maintain all HIPAA rights and responsibilities, and demonstrate professionalism while representing the clinic
  • Answers phone calls, voicemails, mail, and email messages from patients in a timely and professional manner
  • Shall always work collaboratively with other staff and providers in a professional manner
  • Shall communicate effectively with patients, other staff, supervisors, providers, and outside organizations or agencies as needed and appropriate
  • Accepts other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of office experience required
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, good driving record, and be insured by the Tribe's insurance carrier.
  • Must strictly adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Word and Excel and Outlook email required.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver and execute exceptional patient service.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability including planning, organizing, and prioritizing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group, while remaining professional and developing group cohesiveness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively with all members of staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, Health Care, or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a medical, dental, or behavioral health clinic preferred.

Tribal Preference Policy: In accordance with the Spokane Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance Tribal Preference will be observed in hiring.

Veteran's Preference: It shall be the policy of the Spokane Tribe to provide preference in hiring to qualified applicants claiming Veteran's Preference who have been discharged from the United States Armed Forces with honor and under honorable conditions.
