Description Simpson College has an immediate opening for the full-time, exempt Loan Coordinator & Financial Aid Counselor in the Office of Financial Aid. Responsibilities Will Include
- all aspects of loan processing, loan compliance and certifying loans,
- counseling students/parents on appropriate loan programs for their individual needs and aspects of Financial Aid,
- electronic fund transfer and fund returns as appropriate,
- entrance/exit counseling, and
- account reconciliation work
- maintenance and updating of the office of financial aids web pages
This position is also responsible for the Colleges consumer information disclosures, maintenance of the Consumer Information web pages as well as the Offices information collection and dissemination. Qualifications The successful candidate will:
- Be customer service oriented
- Ability to explain and communicate complex Federal regulations and Simpson College policies to students and parents in understandable terms.
- Willingness to learn, understand and use the Colleges data base system and report writing programming.
- Have analytical skills necessary to create and maintain spreadsheets, as well as organize workload according to established priorities.
- Bachelors degree or previous financial aid office experience.
- Ability to handle varied and multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail and accuracy for inputting data and running reports.
- Maintain Confidentiality.
Preference Will Be Given To Individuals With
- Knowledge of the Ellucian data base system and ODS report writer.
- Knowledge of State, Federal and institutional financial aid policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Lender guidelines, regulations and policies pertaining to student loans.
