What You'll Do:Accurately maintain, file, and organize medical records for long-term care residents (paper and electronic)
Scan and upload documents to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system promptly
Review records for completeness and compliance with federal, state, and facility standards
Respond to internal and external requests for records while upholding strict confidentiality protocols
Work closely with nursing, admissions, and administrative teams to maintain accurate and updated records
Help facilitate audits and prepare records for regulatory reviews or inspections
Track resident admissions, discharges, and transfers from a records management perspective
Assist with the release of information process, ensuring proper authorizations are in place
Contribute to improving documentation workflows and help train new staff on procedures
High school diploma or GED required; coursework in health information or office administration a plus
1+ years of Experience working with medical records in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility strongly preferred
Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., PointClickCare, MatrixCare) and medical record software
Understanding of HIPAA and long-term care compliance requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Excellent communication and customer service skills
