Position Summary:Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Willing to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis as assigned.Essential Functions of the Job:
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
- Replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items.
- Gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags.
- Uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloth and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, windows, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion.
- Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls in bathroom.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains and submits orders to maintain an adequate inventory cleaning supplies.
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Job RequirementsEducation Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Preferred:
- Previous cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Verbal and Written Skills Required to perform the Job:Able to read and write, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job:Use of common housecleaning implements, such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 lbs). Prolonged or extensive standing and walking. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching. Maybe required to work in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding etc).
