Job Description:Perform a variety of custodial tasks including maintenance and repair work requiring handyman abilities in the cleaning and care of one or more public buildings and adjacent grounds and sidewalks. Performs a variety of custodial tasks such as mopping, washing walls, woodwork, etc., operating floor care machines, snow removal, and assists with set-ups throughout the campus. The Janitor will be responsible for the supervision and training of lower level custodial personnel.Requirements:JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to do medium to heavy lifting. Must be able to use small hand tools in performing minor repairs. Must have knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and products. Employee should have a good attendance record, be dependable and cooperative. Must have ability to supervise staff.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be in good health and physically able to perform the tasks of the position. Must be able to work independently and communicate verbally for the purposes of training and exchanging information.Additional Information:* This is an SG-7 position with a salary range of $38,235 - $47,237.* This is a contingent-permanent, full-time, calendar year position.* This is a 6:00 pm to 2:30 am.* This position offers full New York State benefits which are some of the most comprehensive in the country.* SUNY Cobleskill is committed to providing a safe and productive learning and living community for our students and employees.
