Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a Part-Time Board Certified Dosimetrist to join our team. This position is fully remote and will support the Texas Oncology Gulf Coast region in Houston, TX. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country with 600+ providers in 220+ sites across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Responsibilities

What does the position require?

  • In collaboration with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, develop, generate, and evaluate treatment plans using computer software and manual calculations based on prescribed target and avoidance dose criteria.
  • Use a wide variety of patient imaging modalities registered to planning images to identify physician delineated target structures and critical structures to be avoided.
  • Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Generate radiation therapy treatment plans in a timely manner using computer software and imaging modalities with strong attention to detail.
  • Adapt to changing technology and be open to learning new systems and techniques.
  • Work independently on routine duties, consulting with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.
  • Communicate with therapists regarding implementation of the treatment plan, including immobilization devices, field arrangement, and other treatment variables.
  • Design and fabricate immobilization devices, beam-modifying devices (e.g., compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields), and treatment planning aids as needed.
  • Strong experience with Varian ARIA for EMR and Eclipse RTPS.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:
  • Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred
  • At least two years of experience with Eclipse TPS preferred
  • Two years of experience with ARIA preferred
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT, and 3D plans
  • Experience with RADCAL and RADFORMATION preferred

Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with frequent contact with staff. The employee is regularly exposed to direct contact with patients and potential exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other clinic environment conditions.
