Overview

As a Managing Director within our Regulatory Compliance & Risk Consulting practice, you will get the opportunity to contribute to our clients' business needs by providing in-depth technical knowledge on enterprise risk management, risk management frameworks, and compliance management systems, and help organizations realize business efficiencies – all with the resources and support to help you excel. You'll collaborate with teams to provide comprehensive risk management and compliance optimization strategies, to help clients build out strong programs, identify and remediate gaps, streamline operations, and limit risk exposure. From day one, you'll be empowered by the broader Risk Advisory team to help you achieve your professional goals by helping our clients achieve their objectives.

Your day-to-day may include:

Responsibilities
  • Lead and support business development activities, including account team management, lead generation, and proposal activities
  • Build, maintain, and utilize networks of client relationships and industry involvement to communicate our value proposition
  • Research, analyze, and understand current marketplace issues and emerging risk and regulatory requirements and guidance, and develop points of view to address client needs
  • Participate in and speak at industry conferences, seminars, and associations
  • Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work
  • Lead client relationships and engagements, manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and become a trusted business partner
  • Perform engagement management responsibilities, including project oversight, project financial performance, deliverables quality review, and staff performance reviews
  • Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client concerns
  • Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization)
  • Manage firm risk and service quality by meeting contractual obligations and minimize engagement risk by proactively identifying and addressing issues in collaboration with Firm leadership and risk management functions
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
  • Model high integrity behaviors and lead with a risk management mindset, taking care of clients and our team, driving operational excellence, and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Manage, develop, train, mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
  • Actively participate in recruiting top talent to the firm and interviews campus and/or experienced candidates
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

You have the following technical skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, MIS, Law, or a related field
  • Minimum 13 of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing cross-industry clients at a national level
  • Certification required: CRCM, CIA, CCEP, CRMA, CRMP, JD, CPA or related license/certification
  • Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Management Framework, Management Systems, and/or Regulatory Compliance or related consulting experience
  • Exceptional client service with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with preparing complex internal and externally facing written materials
  • Strong administrative skills: project management; workflow management; budgets; billing and collections; resource management, etc.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CoPilot, GRC applications
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

The base salary range for this position in our New York, NY office is between $283,500 and $472,500.
