Duties DescriptionReporting directly to the Program Manager for the Office of Crime Analysis and Strategic Partnerships at the Division of Criminal Justice Services, the incumbent will be responsible for not only managing the physical space of the Regional Crime Analysis Center but will also oversee the overall operation of the Center and provide direction to the multi-agency staff assigned there. The incumbent will also be responsible for fostering, managing, and building relationships with law enforcement agencies within the Center's area of responsibility. The Center serves as the main hub of technology and serves as an information-sharing network for the particular county/region. The goal of the Center is to analyze crime within the area, and to promote sharing of this information to local law enforcement to assist in selecting more effective tactics and formulating strategies to significantly reduce crime. The Director will maximize all information and intelligence sharing opportunities by enlisting the participation of various law enforcement and criminal justice agencies.
QualificationsMinimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree and fifteen years of experience in a state or local police organization in the geographic area where the crime analysis center is located. At least four years of this experience must have been at the senior management level and two years of experience in the field of crime analysis are required.
Preferred QualificationsA Master's degree in a related field is preferred. The preferred candidate will hold a Master's degree and have excellent working relationships with senior officials from the law enforcement agencies in the region where the crime analysis center is located. The incumbent should also have a strong working knowledge of evidence-based and data driven policing strategies, to include signature DCJS programs such as GIVE and SNUG.
