Overview

Manager, Abandoned and Unclaimed Property Consulting (HYBRID) role at Ryan. The Manager leads a team of Consultants to perform unclaimed property reviews designed to ensure compliance, identify potential savings and recover unclaimed property assets for clients. The Manager maintains existing client relationships and focuses on the overall administration of client compliance responsibilities, including researching abandoned property issues, reviewing unclaimed property reports, performing audit defense services, identifying transactional planning and ensuring conformity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. The Manager is responsible for creating a positive team member experience, which leads to excellent client service and drives revenue and profit for the Firm.

Hybrid work

For this hybrid role, the expectation is that the employee will be in the office 2 days per week or so.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Consultants to perform unclaimed property reviews and related activities for clients.
  • Maintain client relationships and administer client compliance duties.
  • Research abandoned property issues and review unclaimed property reports.
  • Provide audit defense services and identify transactional planning opportunities.
  • Ensure conformity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Create a positive team member experience to deliver excellent client service and drive revenue and profit.
  • Develop client workplans, project deliverables, and client presentations.
  • Travel to client locations to gather and analyze payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable documentation for audit defense, reporting or asset recovery.
  • Review and reconcile client data for unclaimed property issues; research as needed.
  • Negotiate abandoned property resolutions with state agencies.
  • Mentor and train Consultants and other team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and demonstrate a high-energy team mindset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree or equivalent in Accounting and/or Finance and four to six years of financial audit or abandoned property related experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation/research.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Directly supervises employees in the Abandoned and Unclaimed Property practice, with responsibility for supervisory activities in line with Firm policies and applicable laws.

Compensation
  • Salary ranges vary by location: New York-based roles and other locations; offers based on qualifications and experience; incentive compensation may be applicable.
