Principal Gifts and Fundraising Strategy Manager

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary project manager work related to campaigns and fundraising priorities at HSS, with a special emphasis on activities related to engagement of the campaign donor and prospect universe, priority development, campaign stewardship, and reporting.
  • Partner directly with the Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer and Vice President, Development to support their key relationships with HSS Board members and high-level donors to meet priority fundraising objectives.
  • Support strategy and operational meetings to drive fundraising activity toward fundraising priorities.
  • Serve as a member of the Fundraising Strategy Team, working on prospecting projects and engagement initiatives around key fundraising priorities as they intersect with principal gift, major gift, and institutional fundraising.
  • In coordination with Department leadership and the Communications and Stewardship Team, help facilitate direct outreach, stewardship communications, the drafting and design of case statements, collateral, and other materials related to campaigns and top fundraising priorities.
  • In coordination with the Research and Prospect Management leads, help facilitate the development and updating of prospect lists and prospecting initiatives related to institutional fundraising priorities.
  • Create presentations, reports, assemble materials, prepare talking points, and help organize key internal and external meetings to advance fundraising goals, and ensure the CRM is updated to reflect the latest activity.
  • Oversee campaign stewardship including project updates, signage development and installation, and facilitating tours of physical buildings
  • Support the drafting and review of donor gift agreements and individual stewardship plans.
  • Perform additional related duties as requested.
Education and Experience
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum three years of professional work experience is required. Experience in fundraising and/or healthcare and hospitals is highly desired.

  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to easily learn other software and database systems. Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar application required.
  • Outstanding project and time management skills; ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and prioritize effectively.
  • Highly confident and dedicated, with the necessary drive and energy to respond to the demands of a high-performing fundraising office and world-renowned medical institution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail while acutely aware of the big picture.
  • Passion for the HSS mission.
