Job Description
Our client is a large construction company looking for a Director of Business Development.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead geothermal development projects through all phases—from early-stage planning to full contract execution.
- Manage cross-functional teams and coordinate efforts between internal departments and external partners.
- Oversee budgets, schedules, and performance for multiple projects in different development stages.
- Develop and execute strategic communication plans, including client presentations and stakeholder engagement.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring expectations are aligned and concerns are proactively addressed.
- Analyze technical and financial data, such as geological maps, engineering reports, and feasibility studies, to guide project decisions.
- Translate complex geothermal and financial information into clear guidance for clients and stakeholders.
- Present project financials, including CAPEX/OPEX, to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct business development, including proposal writing, presentations, and relationship-building to grow project pipeline.
- Manage a revenue-focused project pipeline, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize project management and CRM tools to support performance tracking and transparent communication.
- Travel up to 25% in the Northeast, with a hybrid work environment (3+ days in office); salary range: $150,000–$180,000 + commission.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years' experience in client-facing roles in energy efficiency or renewable energy.
- Bachelor's degree minimum, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- 5+ years' experience in sales, project management, implementation, or supervisory roles.
- Background in geothermal or related fields, such as real estate development, MEP/environmental engineering, or construction management.
- Proficiency in technical, financial, and regulatory document analysis, including drilling reports and cost estimates.
- Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with regulatory and technical requirements.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, including internal staff and external partners.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with project management software and CRM platforms.
- Proven success in meeting revenue or sales targets through project pipeline management.
- Strategic thinker and problem-solver, comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
- Supervisory experience required, with ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to new business models.
