The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is the largest organization in the United States dedicated to preventing and addressing homelessness. DHS works to prevent homelessness, reduce street homelessness, provide temporary shelter, and connect individuals and families to stable housing, focusing on accountability, empathy, and equity.

The Division of Shelter Intake oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency's intake and assessment sites for Single Adults, Adult Families, and Families with Children, ensuring access to shelter for the city's vulnerable populations 24/7.

The Department Of Homeless Services (DHS) is recruiting for one (1) Administrative Director Of Social Services M-I to function as Deputy Director Of Operations, responsible for ensuring mandated services are provided in a safe, compliant environment, overseeing security, fire safety, client complaints, incident reporting, staffing, and policy planning.

Hours/Schedule: 9am-5pm Sunday-Thursday (RDO Friday and Saturday)

Minimum Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree and four years of relevant experience, including one year at a managerial level, or equivalent education/experience. Graduate degrees or licenses may substitute for experience as specified.

Preferred Skills: Excellent communication, computer skills, proficiency with CARES, strong administrative and planning skills, sound judgment, and policy decision-making abilities.

This position is open to qualified persons with a disability under the 55-a Program. Residency in NYC is not required.

The salary range is $66,066.00 – $71,246.00.
