A Day in the Life of the Billing and Provider Credentialing Specialist:
Ensure timely and accurate submission of billing for Medicaid (ForwardHealth), private insurance, private pay clients, and contracted purchasers.
Effectively track and manage claims, denials, appeals, and authorizations to optimize reimbursement.
Coordinate the credentialing and re-credentialing of Lad Lake providers and programs with various commercial insurance panels and Medicaid networks.
Maintain updated records in CAQH and payer portals, ensuring ongoing compliance with licenses, insurance, and NPI data.
Reconcile payments, resolve discrepancies, and manage accounts receivable effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams—including clinical, HR, and administration—to ensure accurate documentation that meets billing and credentialing standards.
Support audits, generate billing reports, and contribute to improving billing and credentialing processes.
What You Bring to the Table:
Bachelor's degree required (preferred fields: Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare Administration).
A minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare billing, Medicaid claims, and accounts receivable management.
Familiarity with ForwardHealth, CAQH, payer portals, and provider credentialing necessary.
Solid understanding of CPT/ICD-10 coding, EOB interpretation, and prior authorization workflows.
Advanced skills in Excel and experience with billing/accounting systems (Sage 300 ERP experience is a plus).
Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
