Position Overview Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is seeking a skilled Property Accountant to join their team in Atlanta, Georgia. The Property Accountant will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting daily accounting operations across the company's property portfolio. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of property-level revenue and expenses.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, property purchase cards, and balance sheet accounts; proactively resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
  • Calculate and record journal entries, including accruals for property taxes, insurance, utilities, and other operating expenses.
  • Support daily cash management activities, including cash tracking and cash flow forecasting for assigned properties.
  • Partner with property managers to provide financial insights and reporting that support day-to-day operations.
  • Assist with audit requests and maintain well-organized financial documentation to support smooth audit processes.
  • Participate in system conversions and platform integrations to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in property accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in property management accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, RealPage, Entrata, or similar).
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Experience with system conversions and platform integrations strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with property managers and other stakeholders.
