About the Role: Join our dynamic team as an Agronomy Sales Executive, where you will be at the forefront of shaping agronomy sales strategies and driving growth across retail locations. This pivotal leadership position requires a combination of strategic vision and hands-on management of a high-performing sales team. You will play a key role in nurturing customer relationships and promoting innovative crop input solutions, including seed, crop protection, fertilizer, and precision ag services. Your leadership will ensure alignment with our organization's operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Support Account Managers: Provide daily guidance, coaching, and performance accountability for the Agronomy Strategic Account Managers, supporting their efforts in managing existing accounts and acquiring new agronomy business.
  • Strategic Oversight of Key Accounts: Craft and execute targeted sales plans that resonate with seasonal objectives and support company priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Growth, Grain, and Agronomy Operations teams to ensure seamless customer strategies and to enhance product and service offerings.
  • Field Engagement and Relationship Building: Maintain an active presence in the field with key growers and agronomy teams, attending customer visits and grower meetings to bolster our company's visibility.
  • Sales Strategy and Performance Tracking: Keep a pulse on market trends, competitive activities, and evolving customer needs to refine sales strategies as necessary.
  • Promote a High-Performance Culture: Cultivate a collaborative, accountable team environment focused on customer satisfaction and professional development.
  • Training and Development: Ensure your sales staff are well-trained and well-versed in agronomy products, digital tools, and best practices for customer engagement.
  • Pricing and Inventory Coordination: Contribute to setting pricing strategies, forecasting product demand, and managing inventory in collaboration with location managers.
  • Uphold Professional Standards: Exemplify a professional demeanor and promote the reputation of our organization in all internal and external interactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in agronomy or agricultural sales, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
  • Strong knowledge of agronomic solutions, including crop nutrition, soil health, and pest management.
  • In-depth understanding of retail business operations, encompassing budgeting, inventory, and margin management.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving growth initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and retail software.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to support the team and attend industry events.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a remote setting.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation is a plus.
