As a Material Storage & Retrieval employee with John Deere Des Moines Works in Ankeny, IA, you will:
- Perform material storage & retrieval related duties in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Operate power driven equipment such as forklifts and industrial trucks to move material, parts, and equipment.
- Stock and pick raw materials to support production teams.
- Read Bill of Material (B.O.M) to determine alternate uses and identify slow moving material.
- Distribute and maintain inventory across production facility.
- Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
- Assist and support other team members.
- Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have at least one of the following: High School Diploma or G.E.D., National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
- Ability and willingness to work 1st shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
Preferred qualifications include:
- At least 1 year or more of continuous material handling and/or warehouse work experience; including experience operating a forklift.
