About the role:
The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive Public Areas while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests. Responsibilities include vacuuming carpeted areas, sweeping & mopping hard floor surfaces, maintaining adequate stock of supplies in public restrooms, picking up & removing trash, and wiping down furniture and horizontal surfaces. This position also requires positive interaction with resort guests, assisting them with needs or requests.
What you will be doing:
- Maintain work area neat and organized.
- Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
- Clean lobby area (e.g. dusting, vacuuming, polishing).
- Clean pool area and exercise facilities.
- Clean vending areas.
- Cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors and counter tops in public and employee restrooms.
- Complete all other duties as assigned by supervisor to include cross training.
- Maintain equipment and report needed repairs to maintenance.
- Replenish restroom and pool supplies as needed.
- Responsible for sweeping, vacuuming and refusing disposal.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
What you bring to the role:
- Previous janitorial experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Conversational English is required; Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physically able to move large objects such as housekeeping carts & vacuum cleaners; capable of operating vacuum cleaners.
- Ability to stand and be mobile for most of an 8-hour shift.
