Job Summary:
The Warehouse Director is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods. This role involves managing warehouse staff, optimizing processes, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring inventory accuracy to meet business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning & Leadership
- Develop and implement warehouse strategies aligned with company goals.
- Lead, train, and manage warehouse managers, supervisors, and staff.
- Establish performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
- Operations Management
- Oversee daily warehouse activities including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and receiving.
- Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of goods.
- Optimize warehouse layout for space efficiency and safety.
- Inventory & Systems Control
- Monitor inventory levels and implement effective inventory control procedures.
- Ensure the accuracy of records through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to streamline operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven experience with process improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
- Office and warehouse setting.
- May require occasional travel to other warehouse or distribution sites.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift moderate weight as required in a warehouse environment.
