We are seeking a dynamic and innovative

Ocean Export Coordinator

. This key position will be based in our Corporate (HQ) office located in Los Angeles, CA reporting to the Operations Manager. The

Ocean Export Coordinator

will be responsible for the daily management of Ocean Export service activities. To receive and process all cargo on a daily basis, including overseas communication and customer service as needed with a focus on Export Compliance. Work closely with Steam Ship Lines to secure movement of cargo efficiently to meet client's expectations. The Ocean Export Coordinator is responsible for preparing files, distributing documents, cargo tracking, billing and collecting funds while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare, control, and distribute all required export documents to relevant parties including carriers, consignees, and suppliers.
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and compliance with international shipping standards.
  • Adhere to all applicable export regulations and internal company procedures.
  • Ensure shipments meet compliance and regulatory requirements at all stages.
  • Generate accurate and timely invoices for clients in accordance with contractual terms and service agreements.
  • Follow and maintain up-to-date customer-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure all processes align with client expectations and service level agreements.
  • Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as defined by company policies and client requirements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of ocean export shipments.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all shipment-level communication between De Well and carriers, vendors, and other external partners.
  • Proactively communicate training and development needs to management.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance skills and performance in current and future roles.
  • Deliver excellent customer service through proactive communication and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Resolve issues promptly and professionally to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Utilize the CargoWise system efficiently for shipment processing, documentation, and tracking.
  • Maintain accurate data entry and system updates throughout the shipment process.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management due to business change or business need

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical

· Windows Operating System - Excel/Outlook

· Advanced computer knowledge/proficiency (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Cargowise one knowledge – REQUIRED

Business

· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or a related field – PREFERRED

· Minimum of two (2) years' experience with NVOCC/Freight Forwarding industry – REQUIRED

· Thorough understanding of ocean shipment documentation process, - PLUS

· Possess excellent data entry skills and customer service skills with the ability

· Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches

· Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

· Ability to multi-task and work independently

· Experience with tariff sheets and rate contract

· Possess excellent data entry skills and customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge whole dealing with a variety of people

· Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches

· Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion

· Ability to multi-task and work independently

· Time Management skills

· Ocean Imports: 2 years (Preferred)

· Logistics Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred)

· NVOCC: 2 years (Preferred)

· Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)

· Ocean Freight with an NVOCC/Freight Forwarder: 2 years (Preferred)
