We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The HR Specialist is a key member of the Human Resources department, responsible for managing and administering specialized HR programs and processes. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment law. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while helping to maintain a positive and productive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Perform specialized, semi-professional work in human resources, assisting with administrative tasks that require a high degree of accuracy, discretion, and personal judgment. This role operates under direct supervision.
- Provide guidance and interpretation of HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to managers and employees.
- Analyze data and prepare reports to support decision-making and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with the HR Manager to design, implement, and improve HR programs and processes.
- Collaborate with the HR team to support employee engagement initiatives, training, performance management, and organizational development efforts.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, brokers, or consultants related to area of specialty.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Handle confidential employee information with the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
- Administer and maintain HR systems including ADP Workforce Now, iTalent system.
- Provides general support to all aspects of the human resources department.
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2–5 years of progressive human resources experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workers' compensation processes.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
- Experience with ADP TotalSource systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- English language fluency with bilingual language skill in Mandarin is a must.
- Be able to work independently and collaborate cross-functionally.
Working Conditions:
- Typically operates in an office environment.
- May require occasional overtime during peak periods.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines when handling sensitive information.
- The ability to travel regularly to our West Hills office, El Monte office, and warehouses in San Bernardino County is preferred.
