Overview
The Enterprise Regulatory Office (ERO), within Legal & Regulatory Compliance (LRC), supports the Bank of Montreal (BMO) enterprise and helps BMO meet regulatory obligations and supervisors' expectations. ERO provides leadership and guidance on regulatory interactions, oversight of regulatory examinations and remediation of supervisory findings, advisory input on legal and regulatory matters, and reporting to senior management and the board on significant matters.
Head of U.S. Regulatory Relations, within ERO, reports directly to the Chief Regulatory Officer, serves as a primary contact with U.S. regulators, and leads a team of regulatory liaisons. The role is responsible for fostering and maintaining key relationships with U.S. regulators, providing oversight and guidance on regulatory interactions at all levels of the bank, advising on regulatory examinations, reviews, and remediation activities, staying abreast of the supervisory environment, and reporting on current and upcoming supervisory trends and themes.

The jurisdiction of the role is the U.S. The role has direct or indirect impacts on Legal Risk, Regulatory Risk, Reputational Risk, U.S. Regulatory Relationships, and the ability to execute strategic objectives. The role is complex due to the highly regulated financial industry, breadth of BMO's businesses, complexity of supervisory and business environments, multiple regulatory regimes and regulators, and the pace of regulatory change. Failure to understand supervisory expectations may impact the bank's ability to execute key strategic objectives.

$150,700.00 - $261,800.00

For part-time roles, salaries will be pro-rated based on hours worked. For commission roles, the listed salary represents the target for the first year.
