The Food Nutrition Services Clerk plays a vital role in providing excellent nutritional care and food service to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that meals are prepared and delivered according to the dietary needs specified by physicians and dietitians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble patient food trays accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in kitchen operations as needed.
- Maintain quality standards in meal preparation and service.
- Communicate effectively with team members to facilitate seamless operations.
Qualifications:
- License or Certification: Completion of the Food Handlers course as mandated by state or county regulations.
- Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience (at least one year) as a Diet Clerk or Nutrition Services Clerk in an acute care facility is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
Physical Requirements:
- Good visual acuity and communication abilities.
- Regularly lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
- Safely pushing and pulling objects on wheels, weighing up to 150 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
Environmental Conditions:
- Work primarily in an indoor, temperature-controlled environment.
- Possible exposure to blood and body fluids.
- May encounter wet surfaces, sharp objects, and high noise levels.
- Work may involve stressful situations at times.
Proficiency Standards:
- Adhere to attendance and dress code policies, including proper ID badge display.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- Must be prepared to assist during disaster situations.
- May be required to complete additional duties as assigned by a supervisor.
