What will you do?

Production team members assist with overall production requirements for incoming and outgoing products. The crusher operator will work in a continuous flow environment, from raw material unpacking to loading hoppers, operating equipment, and transferring material into storage tanks for further processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs all production tasks on the crusher, piece of propriety equipment, as assigned
  • Monitors processing equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as setups, calibrations, troubleshooting, and product testing
  • Inspects and examines cylinders for defects, dents, and cracks prior to collecting specialty gases
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a safety leader by fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring a safe work environment with a commitment to zero injuries, emissions, and leaks
  • Must safely operate a forklift, and clamps, when necessary
  • Understands hazards of various gases, size and contents of cylinders by reading safety data sheets and cylinder labels as required
  • Accurately maintains records and ensures that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal regulations
  • Follow and support all processes and procedures in order to prevent a negative impact to Safety, Quality and/or the Environment
  • Keep work area clean and free of unneeded cylinders and equipment
  • Assists the supervisors with tracking incoming and outgoing production inventory
  • Update lean boards as required, tracking through put, down time and performs root cause to assist in driving continuous improvement
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and support 5S and lean project initiatives
  • Maintain ISO programs including 9001 and 14001 and comply with all OSHA requirements
  • Crosstrain in other areas of the plant, specifically in the destruction department.
  • Trouble shoot equipment and perform minor repairs when the equipment is down
  • Other duties as assigned

Certifications Required:

  • EPA 608 certification required upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months
  • Must obtain and/or be able to obtain certification within 60 days of employment for forklift, and clamp

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work overtime hours including weekends when necessary
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hand tools
  • Ability to learn technical chemical processes, gas terminology, cylinder types, and sizes quickly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of and experience working with pressure vessels and gas pipelines
  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business
  • Works well with others and independently
  • Organized with great attention to detail
  • Self-motivated individual, capable of working with minimum supervision
  • Functional computer skills required (Microsoft suite and data entry)
  • Ability to follow job instructions, be aware of job responsibilities, and meet KPIs
  • Material handling equipment familiarity

Physical Demand Requirements:

  • Frequently pushes, pulls, moves, and/or lifts up to 50 pounds independently
  • Sitting 10% of the day; standing and/or walking 80-90% of the time
  • Lifting/Carrying from one level to another approximately 20% of the time
  • Frequently moves cylinders that weigh up to 200 pounds with a four-wheel cart
  • Frequently moves crusher box into place by pushing
  • Frequently identifies written information on cylinders such as serial numbers, manufacture date, etc.
  • Frequently operates a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information such as serial numbers
  • Manipulations (seizing, holding, grasping or otherwise working with hands) up to 50-75% of the day
  • Frequently drives a motorized vehicle or powered industrial truck (i.e. Forklift) and safely maneuvers in restrictive spaces
  • Stooping and kneeling up to 40% of the day
  • Frequently communicates detailed information to others. Must be able to exchange accurate information that others can understand.
  • Constantly works in environments with uncontrolled climate and occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
