Ceramic Development Engineer

Description
This position is to support Knowles Ceramic Development new product introductions. The focus of this position is to develop advanced ceramic formulations for MLCC products.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop ceramic formulations (in collaboration with Sr. Ceramic Scientists), and their processing from batching through electrical testing.
Ceramic batching, milling, calcining, sintering, and electrical testing.
Characterization of newly developed ceramic powders (XRD, XRF, SEM, Dilatometer).
Scale newly developed ceramics for testing in advanced multilayer capacitors.
Support MLCC fabrication utilizing tape casting processes
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Materials science, chemistry, or related academic study with focus in ceramic formulation and processing.
Hands on experience with handling of ceramic powders.
Hands on experience with ceramic processing such as, batching, milling, and calcination.
Preferred direct experience with ceramic characterization methods noted above
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong technical presentation skills
Strong communication, team/collaborative skills
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Ceramic or related field.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting salary for this role is targeted to be between $70,000 to $90,000 annually.
