JOB DESCRIPTION

One of our automotive clients is looking for a Controls Engineer in Toledo, OH.

Duration: 12- months position (May go Longer)

Shift –First Shift (07:00 AM to 03:00 PM Mon- Fri)

Job Responsibilities

  • Development and improvement of processes along with developing the most productive/cost effective method of manufacture.
  • Create detailed work instructions, operate and set up procedures.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Develop and maintain process sheets, PFMEAs and control plans.
  • Develop and maintain IATF 16949 documentation and develop and improve manufacturing processes.
  • APQP participation - includes attendance at key program meetings and participation in new product launch management.
  • PPAP facilitation and application of statistical techniques.
  • Assist with problem solving and quality concern resolution.
  • Communicate with customers as necessary on problem resolution, customer performance rating improvement, etc.
  • Evaluate pareto data and champion projects to reduce scrap
  • Communicate with machine builders to optimize machine layout and strategy
  • Assist in supplier development as required
  • Assist with process improvements and data analysis
  • Visit plants, customers and suppliers periodically on a variety of issues.
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills

  • BS in Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
  • Four to six years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Robotics and PLC knowledge is a plus
  • Thorough understanding IATF 16949 familiarities with DQLP/MBNQA criteria and industrial engineering principles.
  • Experience with PFMEA, DOE and process improvements preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be capable of performing duties with limited supervision.
  • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment utilizing Microsoft Office
  • Self-directed individual with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent attendance with no history of discipline.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple duties and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently; self-motivated to manage through shift priorities and issues.
