Overview

Major Metro Executive Director of Sales (Washington, DC) – Jacobs

Base pay range: $180,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Your impact

As a Major Metro Executive Director of Sales (EDS) aligned to a Metropolitan Area, you will develop and drive a strategy to increase Jacobs market-share within your metro area across all markets, from both near and long-term perspectives. You will focus on expanding cross-market work with existing clients and diversifying with new clients, lead business growth and client stewardship activities, and manage a sales budget. You will work with the broader sales and operations team to ensure effective delivery of solutions and sales activities, while safeguarding the safety, health, and well-being of your team.

You will collaborate across the company to coordinate and drive strategies and sales with existing and new clients. As a leader, you are empowered to manage the overall sales staff and redeploy staff as needed, foster collaboration with operations teams, take intelligent risks, and pursue new markets, technologies, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Influence a positive safety culture and working environment.
  • Commit to advancing inclusion & diversity and instilling a culture of belonging across account teams.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy across all markets by winning new work and expanding the pipeline of opportunities.
  • Deliver Metro Area GM Plan and grow share of Gross Margin within the metro area.
  • Manage sales costs to plan and deliver ROI; achieve targeted win rates for the metro area.
  • Ensure the sales team drives strong win strategy development and execution on Top Prospects, with clear accountability for the Sales/Operations Lead partner to an assigned Strategic Pursuit Leader.
  • Lead brand recognition and external visibility within the metro area; develop political strategies as needed with Operations, Government Affairs, and external advocates.
  • Guide personal development and growth of the sales team, including promotion, diversification of skill sets, and productive follow-on assignments.
  • Lead the sales process across all phases, including project reviews, bid/no-bid decisions, and collaborative reviews.
  • Identify and secure opportunities that utilize Jacobs' global resources and drive collaboration across geographies, lines of business, and delivery platforms.

Qualifications

  • Located within the major metropolitan area you support.
  • Technical degree and/or requisite experience.
  • Successful track record in business development across all markets.
  • Experience with diverse project types and sizes for private and public sector clients.
  • Experience personally engaging on key pursuits, including strategy development, pricing, and team management.
  • Strong business acumen and experience developing sales and pursuit strategies.
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills; leadership with the ability to influence decision-making.
  • Strategic thinker who drives innovative solutions; experience managing a diverse sales team.
  • Analytical capabilities to develop pricing proposals and support sales budgets; proven regional sales success.
  • Ability to form impactful strategic teaming partnerships and counter competitor strategies.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring staff with performance management and development support.

The base salary range is $180,000.00 to $400,000.00. Within the range, pay is determined by work location and factors including skills, experience, and education/training.
