Job Description
AbbVie's Business Evolution Strategic Development (BESD) Team develops and executes forward-looking strategies to ensure AbbVie's readiness for potential changes in the healthcare environment. We are seeking a highly strategic and collaborative Senior Director, BESD to support enterprise efforts to address emerging disruptors.
Responsibilities
- Lead assessment and strategy development to navigate US pharmaceutical price reform today and in the future; continuously consider new ideas and strategies to support AbbVie's objectives.
- Develop and execute bold, integrated, environment-shaping strategies and business-readiness plans through cross-functional and external collaboration.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment to drive actionable strategies advancing business goals.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Government Affairs, Market Access, Legal, Finance, Corporate Affairs) to align and drive strategies toward objectives and milestones.
- Coordinate analysis and co-creation of ideas within cross-functional working groups.
- Monitor and analyze external environment (political, regulatory, legislative, market dynamics) related to price reform and stakeholder behavior.
- Evaluate opportunities to unlock business value and accelerate innovative solutions and competitiveness.
- Keep senior leaders informed of cross-functional progress and external environment updates and their potential impact on AbbVie.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business consulting, government affairs, public policy, advocacy, or market access in pharma or related fields.
- Strong business acumen with experience shaping policy and business outcomes; ability to think strategically and creatively.
- Exceptional communications, executive presence, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills; ability to influence across stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with flexibility and attention to detail.
- Strong political sensitivities and integrity; ability to engage with senior leaders, policymakers, and external partners.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
