The California Association for Health Services at Home (CAHSAH) is a leading statewide home care association dedicated to advancing the interests of home care providers and the patients they serve. We provide education, advocacy, and resources to support our members' professional growth and operational success.

Position Overview

The President / CEO serves as the chief staff officer of CAHSAH, reporting to the Board of Directors through the Chair. This position provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure CAHSAH fulfills its mission, meets member needs, and maintains financial and organizational health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning & Board Support (20%) – Advise and support the Board of Directors; recommend policies and programs; facilitate annual planning retreat; ensure execution of Board decisions.
  • Programs & Committee Support (20%) – Collaborate with committees to develop education, membership, and advocacy initiatives; oversee member communications and publications.
  • Fiscal Management (20%) – Manage assets and investments; develop and oversee the annual budget; safeguard association property and confidential information; execute authorized contracts.
  • Staff Management (20%) – Oversee daily operations; recruit, train, and evaluate staff; establish performance goals; foster a collaborative workplace culture.
  • Effective Relationships (20%) – Serve as the primary liaison with members, committees, government agencies, and partner organizations; represent CAHSAH to external stakeholders and allied associations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. Masters in relevant field preferred.
  • Proven senior leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit, trade association, or healthcare-related organization.
  • Strong strategic planning, fiscal management, and staff leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking abilities.
  • Experience in legislative advocacy and policy development preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a volunteer Board of Directors and diverse stakeholders.
