Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent DESCRIPTION: As a Project Controller at Tutor Perini Corp., reporting to our VP - Controller you will have the opportunity to: 1. Ensure compliance with any and all accounting policies and procedures. 2. Accounts Payable a. Ensure all invoices are routed correctly for approval / managed in a timely manner; b. Review and approve batches and forward to AP entry clerk for processing; 3. Accounts Receivable a. Assist the project management team with the submission and processing of the monthly payment requisitions to the Owner, including accruals at month end close and update as required; b. Reconcile and monitor contract billing status and ensure timely and complete submission of required support; c. Monitor back charges to different companies/subs/vendors, etc.; d. Ensure all jobsite scrap material is processed in accordance with company guidelines; e. Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly, and as needed, cash flow forecasts to Treasury/Corporate Finance. 4. Subcontract and Purchase Order Administration Monitor completeness of subcontractor requirements in the files; Review and enter monthly subcontractor requisitions for payment, including accruals; Assist with reporting and filing of MBE/WBE requirements. 5. Job Cost 6. Payroll a. Monitor the Field Office Coordinator/Project Accountant responsibilities and submissions for weekly payroll; b. Maintain knowledge of Union rate tables and Union benefits, including stamps, for compliance; c. Maintain knowledge of Craft employee new hire process; d. Maintain knowledge of Monthly Employment Utilization Report (M.E.U.R.) process and submission. 7. Cash Flow a. Flag level 1 cash requirements for submission on Mondays. b. Manage cash forecasting process (weekly, 13-week, check distribution), including preparation and submittal of weekly and monthly reporting requirements to parent company corporate finance. REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelors degree in Business/Accounting from an accredited institution and 10 + years of relevant experience;
  • Must exhibit confidence in discussing detail with cross-functional and multi-level teams;
  • Must be dependable, consistent, diligent and conscientious;
  • Must be able to work well with others, receive direction, multi-task and work independently;
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment;
  • Must be willing and able to support Executive Management, Project Management and Operations personnel with various ad hoc tasks and responsibilities towards the goal of timely and on-budget execution of the project;
  • Must have strong team interaction skills, team building skills and managerial skills;
  • Strong to intermediate skill level with MS Word and Excel;
  • Strong to intermediate skill level with standard office machinery and equipment, i.e. multi-function machines, facsimile machines, copiers, scanners, telephone systems, etc.;
  • Strong experience with automated project costing and accounting systems;
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards is a Plus;
  • Knowledge of Procore is a Plus.
