Immediate Opportunity: Optum Pediatrics-Glen Cove is seeking a dedicated and friendly Bilingual Patient Care Coordinator to provide exceptional support to our patients and healthcare team. In this role, you will follow protocols diligently, ensure excellent customer service, and assist in meeting our clinical, financial, and service goals.

Work Schedule: Enjoy a great work-life balance with a Monday through Friday, 37.5-hour work week, including varied hours from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm (with one late night per week) and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Your schedule will be assigned by your supervisor upon hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients, family members, and guests warmly.
  • Assist patients with registration and documentation.
  • Accurately input and verify patient demographic and insurance data into Epic.
  • Check insurance eligibility and provide patients with benefit information.
  • Collect co-payments and manage patient balances.
  • Answer incoming calls professionally, directing them appropriately.
  • Coordinate follow-up care and schedule appointments for patients.
  • Send patient records to primary care physicians as needed.
  • Help onboard new team members.
  • Manage daily patient schedules efficiently.
  • Resolve patient complaints with empathy and professionalism.
  • Support the team by sharing knowledge about integrated care.
  • Engage in other related tasks as assigned.

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare experience
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including late nights and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years in a medical office doing scheduling, insurance verification, and patient care
  • Epic system experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans
