Hunter Recruiting is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Akron, Ohio.

The Psych RN role is based in a 14-bed inpatient detox unit caring for patients voluntarily admitted for detox from alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines. Stays are typically 3–5 days, with a 1:5–7 ratio. Nurses will provide direct care, draw blood, manage IVs, and collaborate with physicians and social workers. Floating is required, including Behavioral Health and Med/Surg as “Helping Hands.”
Psych RN Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing care for patients detoxing from alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines.
Perform assessments, administer medications, and monitor withdrawal symptoms.
Draw blood and initiate/manage IVs.
Collaborate with physicians and social workers on individualized care and discharge planning.
Ensure patient safety and support within 1:5–7 ratios.
Float to Behavioral Health and Med/Surg units to assist as needed.
Psych RN Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of detox experience required.
Active BLS certification.
CPI Blue Card (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required.
Strong clinical skills including IV initiation/maintenance and phlebotomy.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and float between units.#INDWP3
