Position Overview:
Samaritan Medical Center is seeking a qualified Pre-Op RN to work 10-hour day shifts in a busy pre-operative unit. The RN will be responsible for pre-surgical assessments, IV starts, and patient education. Candidates must have successfully completed at least one prior travel assignment and demonstrate strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
Certifications Required:
- Active NY RN License
- BLS (AHA)
- IV Certification
Experience Required:
- At least one successful prior travel assignment (new travelers not accepted)
- Previous hospital-based Pre-Op RN experience preferred
- Ability to assess and prepare patients for surgery
- Knowledge of surgical protocols and patient safety
- Must be able to function well in high-stress and fast-paced environments
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

- Updated resume detailing Pre-Op experience
- Proof of successful prior travel assignment
- Active NY RN License
- Certifications as listed above
- 60-mile radius rule applies – local candidates not accepted
- Former Samaritan employees must be gone for at least 2 years and eligible for rehire
- RTO (Requested Time Off) must be included at time of submission
