Systems Engineer II-III – IT & Cybersecurity Specialist Req Number: 016-25 GBL Systems Corporation is a leading systems engineering and software development firm with a 35 year history of providing technical support to the U.S. Government in the areas of Weapon Systems, Electronic Warfare and Network Centric Warfare. GBL is based in Camarillo, CA and currently is seeking an experienced IT & Cybersecurity Specialist. Note that this is a hybrid role that combines traditional IT support with implementation of cybersecurity measures. Qualified candidates should have an understanding of system and cybersecurity, DoD Risk Management Framework, Information Assurance and NIST Cybersecurity Framework processes. Qualified candidates should also have an understanding of IT infrastructure operations, LAN / WAN networking, virtualization, containerization, patch management, and hands-on experience with networking and security appliances. Successful applicants should have the ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all management levels, the personality to support team goals, and the ability to work independently without close supervision. Applicants should exhibit strong interpersonal and oral/written communications skills. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Knowledge, implementation and management of Firewalls; Endpoint Protection, Detection and Response; Data Loss Prevention; Encryption; SIEM and similar security management tools and appliances Promoting user security training and awareness Assists in the development, maintenance and documentation of security operations procedures, processes, and standards Ensures that system security configurations are properly implemented, monitored and reported Knowledge of security risk management, tools, methodologies and implementation to comply with NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53 and ISO standards Implementation of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology Knowledge to implement and maintain security for cloud-based IT. This includes the knowledge of the FedRAMP marketplace, AWS GovCloud, and Office GCC enclaves or similar solutions Design, setup and configure complex networking environments that support secured access Configuring, installing and maintaining virtual management systems IT-level duties to include domain management, server management, remediation of user workstation issues, access control, cabling, patch panel management, IAVA remediation, IP Routing, DMZ, VPN, etc Knowledge, implementation and management of Firewalls; Endpoint Protection, Detection and Response; Data Loss Prevention; Encryption; SIEM and similar security management tools and appliances Design, setup, configure and maintain complex networking and multi-server environments that support secure access, telecommunications, video and backup solutions Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to maintain consistent and automated management of various Linux system types such as Ansible playbooks and pertinent markup languages such as YAML Providing technical support across the company Job Qualifications: Between three to five years of experience in Cybersecurity and IT Systems Administration Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical field Hands on experience with IDS/IPS products, network protocol and packet analysis tools, penetration testing, security tools or vulnerability management tools such as HBSS, SCAP, Nessus, SIEM CISM, CCNP-Security, CEH, and/or Security certification is desirable Knowledge and experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) is a plus Familiarity with programming languages with any of the following is a plus: C/C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Perl Experience testing and implementing DoD STIGs, applying IAVA/IAVM patches, performing security scans Must be a U.S. Citizen.
