Multi-Unit General Manager The Southern Gentleman and The Gypsy Kitchen

The Multi-Unit General Manager is responsible for the overall operations of two high-volume restaurants. This role involves leading two management teams that share a common kitchen, along with an Executive Chef and culinary team. The General Manager will oversee the service teams, prioritizing upscale, guest-focused hospitality. A robust background in upscale restaurant leadership is essential, coupled with an expertise in wine and beverage programs. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can cultivate a positive team environment and deliver memorable experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Generate outside sales through event planning, local business outreach, special events, and concierge programs
  • Manage the recruitment and training of team members
  • Lead the beverage and wine program
  • Maintain and upkeep all payroll, LMS, and employee lifecycle software and procedures
  • Manage the entry of vendor invoices, product check-ins, and all daily cash handling throughout the shift
  • Lead and coach the front of the house service teams to deliver consistent upscale service
  • Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate improved working relationships
  • Address complaints and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner
  • Work in an environment with minimal daily supervision; be a self-starter, organized, and multi-task oriented
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to include collecting and analyzing data resulting in fiscally responsible decisions
  • Create an atmosphere that respects and protects the well-being of coworkers and guests in a safe environment
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary SPH operations, programs, and material information
  • Maintain quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with current laws and policies to provide a work environment free from sexual harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior
  • Use tactful, appropriate communications toward direct reports, vendors and guests
  • Utilize effective time management; report to work on time and complete assigned duties within designated time frames

Qualifications

  • Management and Customer Service experience; strong administrative skills
  • 3-4 years leading an upscale high-volume restaurant or multiple restaurants
  • Hands-on management style—leading team, coaching and ensuring upscale service
  • Demonstrated financial acumen
  • Robust wine and spirits knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to lead
  • Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue and forecasting; strong communications skills
