Position Type: Secretarial/Clerical Date Posted: 9/2/2025 Location: Earhart Administration Building District: Ann Arbor Public Schools POSITION TITLE: Student Enrollment and Records Support SpecialistFTE: 1.0 (52 weeks, 40 hours /week)SALARY: $37,000-52,000 depending on experiencePOSITION LOCATION: Earhart Administration BuildingREPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director, Student Accounting and Enrollment The Student Enrollment and Records Support Specialist will be part of a dynamic Student Accounting Team, working with the Student Enrollment and Records Coordinator to support the implementation of AAPS enrollment and record-keeping processes. This specialist must be capable of meeting established deadlines with accuracy while maintaining top-notch customer service for our diverse community. They will build and maintain knowledge of state and federal records and enrollment regulations, including FERPA, as well as facility with the various technical systems used in the AAPS. Strong communication with and support of school teams is a significant element of this role. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent plus additional training 3-5 years experience, school setting preferred Experience and proficiency with PowerSchool and PowerSchool Enrollment (InfoSnap) Experience and proficiency with Microsoft software (e.g., Word, Excel) and Google Apps (e.g., Sheets, Docs, and Forms) Demonstrated ability to assist and manage department work flow with an emphasis on customer service with diverse customer populations Experience with state and federal enrollment regulations, including School of Choice ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with processing pre-enrollment applications for new enrollments, in-district transfers, and school of choice applicants through PowerSchool Enrollment (InfoSnap) Facilitate and assist with the rollout of the yearly enrollment and registration through PowerSchool Enrollment (InfoSnap) for both returning and new students Maintain waitlist and other enrollment spreadsheets Communicate with families to answer enrollment questions and records requests Assist with the enrollment email on a daily basis Work with the district McKinney-Vento liaison and English Learner Coordinator in enrollment matters Assist district office professionals at the building level with technical support and training for timely and accurate reporting of student enrollment data Support dual enrollment program with high schools and colleges Handle records requests in a timely manner Ensure and facilitate accurate record keeping Understanding of FERPA and the protection of student data including ethical use policies at the District, State, and Federal levels Understanding of PowerSchool and the functions of exporting student data Perform other duties as assigned COMMUNICATION/INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to work under pressure in an environment of continual and competing deadlines. Ability to express ideas effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams and individuals. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Read, write, and comprehend basic instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, students, and administrators. Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Add, subtract, and multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Positively work with parents and children of diverse cultural backgrounds. Maintain positive perceptions of diverse families. Develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community. Perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
