Materials Lead

We are seeking a Materials Lead to join our client's team — a critical role for ensuring supply chain excellence, production plan compliance, and inventory optimization. This position requires strong analytical, planning, forecasting, and organizational skills, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, master scheduling, and supply chain leadership to drive improvements and ensure seamless operations.

What You'll Do

  • Manage daily, weekly, and monthly supply chain processes, meetings, and action plans.
  • Champion systematic processes to align inventory levels with customer demand and capacity
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and obsolescence
  • Analyze data (including SAP requirements planning) to create consolidated reports and recommend actions for optimal execution.
  • Measure forecast accuracy and identify trends to improve planning effectiveness.
  • Act as an escalation point for supplier issues and material shortages
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Director to support purchasing and stakeholder communication.
  • Monitor and advise on supply chain risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain KPI metrics and presentations to track performance.
  • Partner with the Master Scheduler to ensure proper inventory levels and drive reductions.
  • Oversee buyer and planner KPI performance to deliver consistent results.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 5 years' supply chain experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' supply chain experience in a manufacturing setting

What We're Looking For

  • Strong knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) and order generation logic.
  • In-depth understanding of production planning, scheduling, purchasing, forecasting, and inventory control
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional improvement teams
  • Skilled in analyzing complex data and making actionable recommendations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive results across teams.
  • Positive, results-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
