Lead Insights Engineer/Data Analyst

Pay: $70/hr

Location: Greenwood Village, CO

Long Term Contract: 12+ Month (Possibility of extension or conversion to full time)

Job Description

We are hiring a Technical Data Analyst to join our business intelligence team. This role will be responsible for guiding a business question through conception to answer. You will be focused on one or more platforms and work directly with platform owners to provide data-driven, actionable insights. Your main tasks will include: performing detailed requirements analysis, implementing tagging code to support requests, crafting powerful reports to deliver answers, ad hoc analysis and bug-fixes, documenting processes, working cross-functionally with multiple groups and performing user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role, you should have strong organizational skills, an analytical mindset, and an ability to communicate difficult concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate business features, gather reporting requirements, and uncover areas for improvement
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutions
  • Ad Hoc Support – proficient in SQL (AWS Athena)
  • Perform ongoing reviews of requirements, roadmaps, and developing optimization strategies
  • Manage expectations with stakeholders and balance competing priorities
  • Work with multiple groups to identify metrics then determine and prioritize work into a backlog based on business needs and requirements
  • Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management
  • Gather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders to create actionable improvements to analytics
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements by testing and coordinating with testing group for high-quality implementations
  • Manage multiple projects, developing plans for future state, and monitoring performance of current reporting and services
  • Update, implement, and maintain procedures to support your assigned stakeholder teams
  • Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Design and develop tags for implementation by front end teams for reporting
  • Assist in investigation of production bugs for root cause analysis

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Preferred: Code development skills, experience with YAML, or experience with SDLC, SQL (HIVE/AWS Athena/EMR)
  • A solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and normalization
  • Proficiency in use of query and reporting analysis tools: Tableau, Pivot, Kibana or similar
  • Nice to Have: Git, ElasticSearch, or data mining experience
