A leading organization in New York City is currently seeking a dedicated Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) for its team in The Bronx and Manhattan. This full-time position offers a dynamic work environment in group homes, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Flexible, Monday to Friday, with options between 7 am - 3 pm, 8 am - 4 pm, or 9 am - 5 pm, and potential weekend work
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Setting: Group Homes
Responsibilities:
- Developing functional behavioral assessments and support plans
- Providing individual and group counseling
- Presenting psychotropic medications and behavior support plans to committees
- Training staff in behavior plan implementation and monitoring
- Providing referrals for psychiatric care and evaluations
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in BIS fieldwork
- Master's degree in psychology or related field
- BCBA certification is a plus
- Strong assessment and behavior support development skills
- Proficient in EMR systems, specifically PrecisionCare
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel within the metropolitan area
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Problem-solving abilities
