About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Plant Services to lead our Division of Plant Services and School Planning. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Superintendent of Schools to ensure the seamless operation of our plant division. Your responsibilities will include overseeing total plant maintenance, rehabilitation, and modernization projects. You will prepare bid specifications, manage purchasing and inventory, and develop comprehensive plans for construction and reconstruction initiatives. Additionally, you will conduct architectural and engineering studies, maintain our grounds, and serve as the primary liaison with contractors, ensuring effective supervision and evaluation of their services.
To qualify for this role, you should possess a Master's or Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering, along with 3-5 years of relevant experience in the design, construction, and/or maintenance of large buildings. A minimum of 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity is essential. Candidates must hold a Professional Engineer or Architect License issued by the State of New York. We are looking for professionals with deep expertise in engineering, planning, and school plant design, construction, maintenance, and safety. Strong problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and effective communication are critical for success in this position.
