Job Overview

We are seeking experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurses to join our team for a 13-week contract in Downey, CA. This role involves working in a secured behavioral health environment providing compassionate, professional nursing care to patients in a correctional or inpatient psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration and blood draws.
• Ensure safe and therapeutic care for patients in accordance with CA State law patient ratios.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individualized patient treatment plans.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and facility policies.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with staff, patients, and other healthcare providers.

Requirements

• Active California RN license (must be valid at time of submission).
• BLS Certification (AHA required).
• Fire Card certification.
• MAB or CPI certification (required prior to start).
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Experience working in secured environments such as correctional health, behavioral health units, or locked facilities preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster (if eligible) required.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Additional Information

• RTO: Up to 3 days (none preferred).
• No on-call requirement.
• Travel experience preferred, but not required. Local travelers accepted.
• Scrubs: Any color (navy blue or black preferred).
• PPE provided.
• Parking available on site.
• EMR: Cerner.
