Military Technician Position

This is a military technician position with the 335th Signal Command (Theater), Company B, 392nd Signal Battalion, 359th Signal Brigade located at Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. Responsibilities include processing administrative actions using automated systems, maintaining organizational records in accordance with regulatory requirements, reviewing correspondence for submission to higher echelons, preserving stock levels of organizational equipment, monitoring employee training programs, and enforcing policies established by higher headquarters.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Temp/Term Appointment Authority to Meet Critical Hiring Needs in the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Who may apply: US Citizens. To qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. Specialized experience includes monitoring programs for the organization which including pay, personnel, medical readiness, training, or logistics; processing administrative actions using automated systems; and coordinating various types of meetings and training events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
