Overview
Thyssenkrupp Materials NA is preparing to open a new warehouse facility in Grand Rapids, MI. We are seeking a hands-on, people-centered General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive long-term success. Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, MI. Day Shift | Full-Time | Onsite Only. Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 + Bonus Potential. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all warehouse operations to ensure safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Hire, lead, and develop a team with a focus on communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with safety regulations (OSHA), internal policies, and quality standards.
- Monitor equipment performance, lead preventative maintenance, and recommend upgrades as needed.
- Foster cross-functional partnerships with Sales, HR, and Engineering to support customer success.
- Manage budgets, facility upkeep, inventory turnover, and employee development.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Press Brake, Laser, and Punch machines.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or warehouse team leadership role.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.
- Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related fields).
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree (MBA, Engineering, etc.).
- Experience with Mastercam, SolidWorks, or CAD.
- Exposure to ISO standards, labor relations, safety programs, and sales coordination.
