General ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities: • Maintain, upgrade, and operate the Academy's computer based simulation systems hardware and software to ensure these systems are fully operational for instructional needs. • Assist in the creation and update of simulation exercises, as needed. Run simulation exercises for classes, as directed by instructors. • Troubleshoot reported simulation system technical issues in an effort to quickly repair the simulator systems' hardware and/or software malfunctions. • Ensure technical issues related to a simulation system are fully documented in the Service Desk system. • Work closely with simulation system vendors to ensure optimal operation of simulation systems. • Consult with the simulation vendor to identify needed software and hardware upgrades. Participate in the scheduling and completion of software upgrades and hardware replacements to the simulation systems. • Provide simulation system support for tours, open houses, and other campus events. • Update existing charts and documentation pertaining to the simulation systems. • Assist and provide training to other technicians and instructors in the operation of simulator systems. • Provide cleaning and preventative maintenance for all simulator systems and ancillary equipment. • Maintain readiness and order in the simulation spaces. Ensure spare equipment is on-hand to replace failed equipment and any needed supplies are in inventory.Qualifications and RequirementsQualifications: • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Audio/Visual Technology or a related field. • Experience with computer networking, PC hardware and software support, and installation of peripherals in a Windows environment. • Experience with installation of various software packages, drivers, and associated files. • Experience running, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing computer based simulation systems, devices and equipment. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse workforce.Preferred QualificationsPreferred Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Audio/Visual Technology or related field. • Familiarity with simulator systems from such manufacturers as CSC, Wartsila or Kongsberg. • Familiar with marine vessel operations.Salary $65,000- $70,000How to ApplyTo Apply: Please submit the following documents: cover letter, resume, MMA application, Affirmative Action form, and contact information of five (5) professional references.
