CHB department oversees the Customs entry clearance, duty, and import compliance areas of the international shipping to facilitate seamless flow of supply chain for the importers. Our responsibilities include submission of import entries to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) through ACE, classification of merchandises, assistance in duty payments, and consultations to importers on CBP and PGA regulations. Customs Entry Writer Requirements
  • Industry related or transferable knowledge/education
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database applications
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Main Job Duties, but not limited to:
  • Provide excellent and timely customer service
  • After training proactively informing clients of the status of shipments and referring clients to a higher-level authority
  • Review client shipping documents to ensure all required information are provided accurately and whether products comply with CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) and/or Partner Government Agencies-PGA regulations, ensuring all data is entered accurately into ABI software.
  • Communicate with CBP and/or PGA to address any issues or questions or to respond to CBP/PGA correspondence.
  • Process special entries, including Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Preferential Programs, Trade Remedies and its Exclusions, Temporary Importation under Bond (TIB), General Order (G.O) entries, etc.

The annualized base salary for this position ranges from $55,000.00 to $62,000.00 excluding fringe benefits. If hired at OOCL Logistics, the final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we also consider internal equity as part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
