JOB SUMMARY Responsible for providing analytical services relating to the lending activities of the institution; analyzing financial statements and other relevant data and making recommendations with respect to credit worthiness, both before loans are made and in order to insure ongoing credit worthiness; requires several years of experience and handles more complex credits. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Obtains loan request information from commercial lender or borrower to analyze credit information, financial statements and other related information pertaining to the loan.
- Researches background documentation and reviews personal and business financial statements and tax returns. Analyzes financial information and prepares the preliminary analysis for the lender.
- Requests and obtains financial statements on existing borrowers.
- Reviews and prepares written analysis, spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions. Prepares or assists in the preparation of loan memorandum for presentation to lenders and/or loan committees.
- Analyzes loan data on renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other financial institutions and financial institution files.
- Oversees and manages financial information files to generate current reports, statements, accounts receivable and other information on customer accounts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Communication- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written.
- Computer Skills - Proficient computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity and advanced features of word processing, spreadsheet software and ability to learn specialized bank-related programs and software.
- Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology.
- Accounting - Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Banking-- Knowledge of financial industry and bank dynamics, and knowledge of bank's products and services, and bank security and transaction policies.
- Critical Thinking -Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Monitoring - Monitoring/assessing performance of yourself to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Law and Government -Knowledge of banking laws and regulations as they apply to the lending area.
- Bank Secrecy Act - In the performance of all the respective tasks and duties, employee will maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting.
- Five or more years of credit underwriting experience.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
