Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Development Associate for a leading nonprofit at the intersection of science, the arts, and education. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and motivated Development Associate to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role supports fundraising initiatives through expert management of donor records, assistance with events, and maintaining operational excellence. The position offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about science and culture to contribute within a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the organization's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, with special focus on advanced fundraising platforms.
  • Handle data entry, donation recordkeeping, donor segmentation, list management, and generate queries and reports.
  • Reconcile donations alongside the Finance team monthly.
  • Assess and enhance CRM workflows for maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain donor files across individual, corporate, and foundation sectors.
  • Process incoming gifts, draft acknowledgment letters, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the production and mailing of fundraising appeals and donor acknowledgments.
  • Support the development and management of membership circles.
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising and donor cultivation events, including special galas.
  • Manage event logistics before, during, and after events, from invitations to guest lists.
  • Provide on-site event support as required.
  • Research new prospects among individuals, foundations, and corporations to advance the organization's mission.
  • Prepare comprehensive prospect materials for events to optimize donor engagement.
  • Aid in the grant writing workflow, including research, drafting, submission, reporting, and tracking deadlines.
  • Manage departmental expenditures.
  • Create monthly fundraising reports and maintain dashboards.
  • Direct inquiries from donors and stakeholders to the appropriate contacts.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 3 years of development experience in nonprofit fundraising.
  • Advanced proficiency in fundraising databases (experience with Raiser's Edge NXT highly preferred).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and positive team player.
  • Discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills, including expertise with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary of $60,000 to $80,000 (DOE) annually as well as comprehensive benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Holidays, Generous PTO, and more!)
