The Corporate Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all Division Purchasing Teams are following SMH best practices and policies to promote success in each home building division. This will require a deep understanding of SMH purchasing processes and will require regular interaction with the division Purchasing Leaders as well supporting the Corporate Purchasing team to ensure alignment is achieved and success is realized.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Exercise initiative in organizing and completing assigned tasks according to established guidelines, safety standards and procedures, deadlines and department parameters
Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making and meeting deadlines
Ability to self-manage and work well with minimal supervision
Coordinates training for Division Purchasing where improvement is needed.This can and should be accomplished through multiple team members where beneficial as it promotes inter-departmental/divisional interaction
Ability to effectively communicate (verbal, written, oral) with all levels of the organization and supply chain team members
Create training documents and videos on purchasing processes (bid management, model home rebates etc.)
Help produce/manage quarterly Purchasing Department reports creation, distribution and analysis for assigned communities
Participates in training of new hire purchasing team members across the company
Troubleshoots all HB1 issues that are forwarded by Help Desk Tickets
Learns new HB1 functions (i.e. Sales Tax, Measured Options) and provides support to the company
Work collaboratively with Senior Corporate Purchasing Manager to roll out new processes (i.e. homebuilder items)
Creates and updates forms and process documents under Corporate / Division Purchasing on SharePoint University
Follow company expectations, including internal control and ethics policies, regarding trade partner and vendor selection/relations and national accounts
Assists in Acquisitions by SMH.Provides support in training acquisition on SMH Purchasing Process and Procedures
Assists Senior Corporate Purchasing Manager with Process Improvement Projects that transcend across all departments inside HB1
Work in tandem with various departments on projects where purchasing expertise is required
Proactively engage with office and field team members and departments to improve processes and community executions, and to ensure work is being completed in a timely, efficient manner
Schedule and attend training functions as needed for new acquisitions, new hires, as well as performance management opportunities
Assist in the testing of all new HB1 functions and processes.Schedule and assist in the training of Stanley Martin Purchasing Groups on such items
