In this vital role as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist, you'll work collaboratively within a team focused on delivering high-quality, personalized primary care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include building strong relationships with patients and supporting the healthcare team to ensure efficient, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure efficient patient flow by promptly rooming patients and assisting providers in maintaining their schedules.
- Provide an exceptional patient experience, helping patients prepare for their visits.
- Collect vital signs, assess chief complaints, and review medication history.
- Conduct patient screenings in accordance with protocols.
- Manage supply orders and keep exam rooms fully stocked and prepared.
- Perform routine quality checks, including infection control measures and checking supplies.
- Maintain clean, safe, and ready exam rooms for patient visits.
- Support telephonic patient care under the guidance of an RN or provider.
- Assist in providing home-based support for high-risk members, as needed.
- Administer vaccinations and conduct procedures as directed by an RN or provider.
- Execute waived laboratory testing and schedule necessary diagnostic tests.
- Assist in applying durable medical equipment.
- Support care team efforts in obtaining and managing medical records, ensuring timely scanning into the EMR.
- Participate in care team meetings to enhance patient care and clinic operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- CPR Certification is required.
- Medical Assistant certification or registration is necessary.
- 3-5 years of experience in a Medical Assistant role is preferred.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is required.
- 2 or more years working with geriatric patients is preferred.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset are essential.
- Ability to demonstrate problem-solving, accountability, and a positive, flexible attitude.
- Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other relevant community languages is advantageous.
- Must have US work authorization.
