Job Summary

Reports To: Principal

Salary: Based on salary schedule for 207 days.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Qualifications:

  • College or business office experience preferred.
  • Typing skills, telephone courtesy and organizational skills
  • Computer skills, including knowledge of data base management.
  • Must complete a criminal background check through the Alabama State Department of Education at your own expense.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, gather, and organize pertinent data as needed and put into usable form.
  • Maintain a regular filing system, as well as a set of locked confidential files if needed, and process incoming correspondence as instructed.
  • Place and receive telephone calls directly from the receptionist, and record messages.
  • Communicate to parents in regards to student absences.
  • Communicate in writing to faculty and staff via email or memo in regards to students attending activities off-campus.
  • Receives and checks attendance register and submits attendance reports in a timely manner to the appropriate office.
  • Monitors the checking in and out of students daily and contacts parents when needed.
  • Maintain a schedule of appointments and make arrangements for teacher conferences.
  • Operate a computer and any programs or peripheral equipment needed in connection with assigned position.
  • Assists the counselor when needed, to include the enrolling and withdrawing of students and requesting grades from previous schools.
  • Is regular in attendance and on task during work hours.
  • Complete all state required forms.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
